Our Executive Team offers a balanced approach and skill set to the leadership of Invest Blue. Each brings a rich history of experience that adds to the effective operation of our business and reinforcement of our incredible workplace culture.

David Stephen
David Stephen
Managing Director

LI logoDavid is a Certified Financial Planner® and as Managing Director is responsible for executing the strategic plan of the business (in conjunction with the leadership team) and driving development of strategy with the board.

David joined Invest Blue as a consultant in 2001 and since then has held advising, strategy and management roles within the business. Within these roles he has demonstrated his ability to solve complex problems by thinking outside the box.

In 2009 David was appointed Managing Director, having held the role of Director since 2008.

David is dedicated to community involvement, and along with Steve Sewell has established a group of volunteers in Armidale that provide support to St. Vincent De Paul. These volunteers provide assistance with tasks such as moving house, mowing lawns and taking rubbish away.

David is also a firm believer that community sporting organisations play a large part in bringing a community together and volunteers his time at his local rugby club.

David enjoys spending time with his wife and children and values family, friends and being part of the community. He loves sport, including; Rugby, Rugby and more Rugby! David is a passionate Eels supporter and enjoys watching cricket. He also has a share in a horse syndicate, enjoys listening to music and has an interest in politics.

However I believe that my existing clients are my best advocates and the long term relationships that exist with clients are the best evidence that this can be achieved.

Steve commenced his financial planning career in 2000 at his family business, Financial Independence Planners in Penrith. Prior to this Steve was employed as an accountant from the time he left school.

Steve has been responsible for growing the business in Penrith, Norwest, and the Central Coast. Steve is extremely proud that the team that grew with him at Financial Independence Planners remain an integral part of Invest Blue today.

This growth was achieved as there was always a focus on a long term relationship of trust and support with clients. Our focus on pre and post retirement advice meant that we have assisted many clients achieve their goal of financial independence, and these clients became strong advocates of the business.

Steve is passionate in supporting his clients to make those key financial decisions, and believes in the approach that a great financial adviser provides all the education and support required to help their clients make smarter financial decisions to live their best possible life.

Steve certainly believes that with his support, and the resources of the team at Invest Blue, that his clients do believe it’s possible to achieve their dreams, and their adviser will help them to do this.

Steve, and his wife Kerri, have three young children all growing up on the beautiful Central Coast of NSW. Steve and his kids are actively involved in many sporting clubs and teams, particularly the local Wamberal Surf Club in which Steve is a patrolling member, and the entire family is actively involved in many ways.

Jennifer commenced her career in financial services in 2000. Jennifer completed a Graduate Program in Financial Planning for a bank, through which she held roles as a Paraplanner and Financial Planner prior to joining Invest Blue in 2008.  Jennifer has held various roles in Invest Blue; now the Manager of Advice, Risk & Governance.  Jennifer has a passion for operations, compliance and governance and enjoys assisting the business and its people to achieve their goals.

As Manager of Advice, Risk and Governance, Jennifer’s accountability is to deliver the company’s strategic objectives in the area of advice delivery for clients.  Her personal goal is to ensure that Invest Blue is at the forefront of the financial planning industry providing valuable and comprehensive advice to clients. Jennifer is also a Director and Company Secretary.

Jennifer enjoys spending time with her husband and 2 children, as well as cooking and crocheting.

Lexi joined Invest Blue in 2015 as the Manager of Marketing and Communications. Prior to joining Invest Blue Lexi had experience working with business owners in developing and implementing communication plans as well as HR & Financial roles. She has a passion for spreading the word for businesses who are doing great work and whom serve their clients or customers well.

Lexi has Bachelor of Commerce Degree from the University of British Columbia in her native town of Vancouver, Canada.

Lexi moved to Armidale in 2014 with her husband and 3 children and is loving the strong sense of community and activities in the area. For the past 15 years she lived on a large sheep & cattle property near Canberra and enjoys balancing the pace of corporate life within a rural and strong community-based setting.
